Airbrush Tanning in San Diego
Tanning feedback from a group of friends in San Diego, mostly about our airbrush tanning experiences. We also get submissions from our out of town friends, when they visit San Diego and get a tan. For sure tanning salons are not all the same!

Mystic Spray Tanning - Is the Mystic HD Actually Good?
Some in-touch spray tanning fans are using the new Mystic HD tans. Unlike traditional Mystic tans that left you wet, the new HD tanning booths use mild heat while they work for a spray tan that’s instantly dry. The tone and color look perfectly natural, and the tan lasts for up to 10 days. The entire process is very short. No suspicious orange color or streaking, just a long-lasting spray tan that can instantly help add that tropical touch to your look.
I love all spray tanning. Beautiful Glowing Skin, and there are no harmful UV rays involved so you don't have to worry about wrinkles or other bad effects!

Airbrush Tanning for My Skin - Perfect!
I have been to the doctor to rule out a medical cause but still have bruised skin. Especially on my thighs and upper arms.
Airbrush tanning has made it possible for me to wear my short shorts with pride. My airbrush lady Christy has done the Hollywood stars and spray tans my contours like a dream. Unlike the machine air brush, the hand application can be custom done to a believable shade.
When my friends came from Minnesota last week they all bragged on my awesome San Diego Cali girl sun tan!

Big Year for Spray Tanning in San Diego, and the Rest of CA?
Will airbrush tanning increase because of the ban on tanning bed tanning for young people under 18? We've been talking about it, and it's kind of a no-brainer. Kids who want to look tan will find other ways to get the look they want.
I understand there are a lot of schools in San Diego county where tan is the only way to be. I mean not many girls want to go to prom in a strapless formal gown as white as a sheet. Spray tan in a can is way too risky for such important events in my opinion.
My daughter is really upset by the tanning ban. She has only been to the tanning bed a handful of times, but really liked her results. She said "fake baking" never looks real. I beg to differ because at my older daughter's wedding every one of the bridesmaids got professionally airbrush tanned. They all looked wonderful and the pictures turned out great!

Airbrush Tan Ban
AirbrushTanFan said she thought airbrush tanning was going to become very popular and maybe controversial, not just in San Diego but all over the world. I thought she was being a bit dramatic. Besides, it seems like bed tanning would be far more of an issue for some groups of people. Listen to this though: I just heard about an Irish sports team that was banned from having spray tans!
Seriously – My grandparents are visiting San Diego from Ireland right now, and the airbrush tanning ban article was in a popular online newspaper there.
Here’s the link: http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/sport/2011/1104/1224307038369.html
I thought it was hilarious.
San Diego is an awesome place to get an airbrush tan, and I think a lot of women find a great salon or day spa that feels right. I think these other bloggers are right about going to a unique place. And if there is a wait and people are patiently waiting…. that’s a good sign.

Airbrush Tanning Advice, and The Situation
Apparently he was in Miami Florida supporting a tanning salon chain. The store offers spray tanning and tanning beds. "The Situation" said in an interview that he both spray tans and fake bakes. He said he liked the stores he was endorsing because they are open 24 hours a day. Personally, I need something classier than a 2am quickie in a chain store, but it does sound like something he would be into.
My airbrush tanning advice is to go to a one of a kind tanning salon (like Platinum Tan, here in San Diego). Quality over quantity. There is a huge difference between a bad spray tan and a quality airbrush tan. Find a store that is holding its own in a major retail hub but is not a chain. It just makes sense.
As the people on Jersey Shore would say enjoy the GTL (gym, tanning, laundry) lifestyle.

Spray Tanning Craziness in the News
They said some people were joking about how ironic it was that someone got burned from a spray tan (airbrush tan). Insert cheesy joke here.
I am sure that New Years Eve spray tan that Kim K. got felt like it burned if it made her never try spray tanning again.
BTW Did you notice they put her on the cover with the same dress as Kate Holmes a month or 2 ago? Someone should have really gotten fired for that.

Spray Tanning and the Orange Kardashian Incident
I was thinking about this because Kristina was talking about stars needing professional quality airbrush tans.
That must have been one of the worst New Years of Kim Kardashian's life.

Tanning or Airbrush Tanning Before Vacation, Part 2
Well, it turned out my Moms started using the tanning bed!
I think they are afraid of the dreaded "turning orange" from airbrush tanning. I would be too, as airbrushing is something you may want to
hear about by word of mouth. Movie stars count on professionals when they get their airbrush tans.
You should never get airbrushed at a "box store style" tanning salon chain.
The funniest thing about this is they live in Las Vegas!
If you wanted to tan living here in San Diego (or somewhere else famous for sunshine like Vegas or LA) couldn't you just lay out? I guess my Moms are pretty modest, they probably don't want their gardener to see them in a suit when they are 0% tanned (aka pasty white).
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful writing about an airbrushing experience as it unfolds. Keeping it real, and loving the summer sun in San Diego......
