I go to a tanning salon for my airbrush tanning, but one of my San Diego girlfriends received an interesting Christmas gift this year - And I wanted to share this:
Tanning-lover Gina got a home spray tan kit from her boyfriend, and I'm sure he meant well. But these things, even when you get an expensive one, are a waste of money. None of them are going to come with a fine-mist grade sprayer like the professional tanning salons use. The professional grade airbrush guns that salons use give an even, very fine mist of the spray tan (airbrush tanning) solution. And who is going to apply the tan? Your best friend or boyfriend? Are they trained and experienced? Not likely.
I advised Gina to return the home airbrush tanning kit for credit, if she thought it wouldn't upset her boyfriend. I doubt he wants to see his cutie with streaky, uneven tan coloring on her skin.
Don't airbrush tan at home! At least get feedback from online reviews and your friends first.
